What makes an open source project flourish? Why do some projects fail to build a sustainable community while others become a cornerstone of the software landscape? We want to encourage more discourse about the non-coding aspects of successful open source projects. FOSS Backstage also aims to provide a space to discuss the ways that businesses using an InnerSource approach can learn from, and constructively engage with, Open Source communities. Together we will explore strategies to fund work on open source projects, discuss ways to insure legal compliance, open up the debate on licencing, and talk about project leadership in a community driven environment.
